Tarerer Festival

The Tarerer-Gunditj Project Association Inc. is a non-profit body established in 1996. The Tarerer Project has endeavoured to bring awareness and understanding of local Indigenous culture as a role model for reconciliation.

The Project promotes cultural exchange between communities and cultural groups locally, regionally and nationally. It holds as central to its purpose ultimate respect for the Land and the Culture of the Traditional Landowners of this South Western Victorian Region.

In the spirit of the traditional meetings of the clans, the Tarerer Festival has been staged annually in the region since 1996 and represents an invitation, a welcoming, an offer of sharing, extended to all other cultures and clans in the spirit of reconciliation.
